Frequently Asked Questions: Answered!
How do I book a session?
Browse my pricing page to determine which collection best fits your needs. Send me an email letting me know which one you have selected, and we will then determine a date that works for you! If you have questions about a package, don't hesitate to ask. Once you've made your decision, I'll email a contract and $100 non-refundable retainer invoice that will need to be signed and paid within 48 hours to reserve your slot on my calendar. The $100 will be applied towards your session.
What does your price include and do you have a minimum requirement?
My pricing is very transparent. Along with your session, you will receive a certain amount of digital images included depending on the collection you choose. I have created multiple digital pricing collections for you to find the one that best fits your needs and budget. There are no print or product purchases required. The price you see on my website is what you'll pay in addition to 8.25% sales tax, which I am governed by Texas state law to charge my clients and then submit to the comptroller.
What type of sessions do you offer?
I offer maternity, newborn, babies, children and family portrait sessions. Upon special request, I also photograph graduating seniors and weddings.
How do we get access to our photos?
Between 2-3 weeks, you will receive an email from me with your online gallery link. It will be password protected for your privacy. From there you can choose your favorite digitals to download straight to your computer. A link will be sent to your email and the files will be FULL resolution so you can print as large as you desire. You can purchase an heirloom custom designed USB upon request.
Where is the best place to have my photos printed?
The BEST place to print is of course through me. However, I do not require you to do so. Upon delivering your gallery, I will give you suggestions on places to print. I highly suggest avoiding photo chains like Walmart, Walgreens and Target. Saving a few dollars per print may seem appealing but prints are something I would put a little more investment into to ensure the quality, color tone and longevity is on point.
If you are printing a beautiful gallery wall or printing BIG, I do encourage you to print through me. Click for product pricing. The photo quality I provide is truly heirloom quality, meaning these photos will stand the test of time to be passed down through generations. These photos will far exceed what is readily available to you and I promise they will blow you away. Canvases are printed on museum grade material, unlike what you will get from an inexpensive Groupon canvas that will likely come apart in the corners within a handful of years. My print lab uses the finest photographic paper with experienced print technicians to provide superb color management so that each print looks literally picture perfect!
I LOVE your photos but you're not in my budget. What can we do?
I consider the photography experience I offer a timeless luxury. While we can take snapshots on our phones every day, professional photography is definitely a luxury item in my opinion that often time needs to be saved up for. Like many things in our lives that we value or need, we find a way to make it work! Over the years, I have had some inquiries respond to my pricing with "oh no, that is way out of our budget for you to just click a button". Yes, while I do click a button, there is far more to it than clicking a button as you can see in my galleries. The fancy stroller, nice carseat, crib set, flat screen tv, fancy shoe and purse will all need to be replaced one day, but there is high value to preserving memories for a lifetime. My suggestion: plan ahead! In special cases, I am happy to figure out a payment plan to ensure you can still get the timeless photos you deserve. If you find yourself in a really tight spot, feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to chat with you! A $100 retainer will get your slot on my calendar, and we can go from there.
Do you do indoor sessions as well as outdoor?
Yes, and there are a couple of options. I offer studio sessions for newborns, babies and young children at my home, and I also offer lifestyle newborn and lifestyle family sessions that take place in the comfort of your home. Studio sessions are done at my home located in Rockwall, TX. Outdoor sessions take place year round, of course when the ever changing Texas weather cooperates! Typically, outdoor sessions are in the late afternoon or early evening during, both during sunset when the light is magical to provide you with timeless photographic memories.
Do you offer mini sessions?
If you follow my , you may see some promotions or special stylized sessions a couple of times a year that take place on specific dates and times. Otherwise, year round I offer a variety of pricing pageherefacebook pagecollections to choose from.
What happens if our children are being difficult?
I love to use my positive and cheerful influence to gain the trust of children. Having 3 of my own, I understand more than anyone that some days, they just do not want to cooperate for photos. I highly suggest happy and positive attitudes while getting ready before the sessions, and not getting frustrated during a session if your children begin to run around or not listen. Although I know sometimes internally you are pulling your hair out, stay positive, and remind them that their good behavior will earn them a reward. I bring stickers, sugar free organic suckers and squeaky toys to engage the younger kids, toddlers and babies. Feel free to bring a favorite snack or toy!
What gear do you use?
- I currently shoot with a Canon 5d mark IV and 5d mark III. The lenses I have vary depending on the session, but my go to's are:
- Sigma Art 35mm and Canon 24-70 2.8L for studio and lifestyle sessions especially, and some - outdoor as well
- Sigma Art 85mm and Canon 70-200 2.8L for outdoor sessions
- Sigma Art 20mm for indoor lifestyle sessions
- I use studio lighting for indoor sessions with newborns and babies. My current set up is the AlienBees400 with 64" PLM which gives a nice, professional studio look!
